Samer Tarazi and Odeh Semreen, Jordan-based entrepreneurs have established a chatbot called Eila that helps you order food through it! What does this mean? It means that F&B businesses can sell their food and beverages on Facebook Messenger through a live chatbot called Eila, who’s responsible for taking the order from the customer and sending it to the cashier through Slack.
If customers have Facebook Messenger installed, they no longer have to download food delivery apps to order food. They can just open up a chat room with a restaurant on Facebook and message Eila, the bot and it gets the job done. It displays the menu to the customer, where they can then place their order, and have it either delivered or picked up.
“People would rather not go through the hassle of downloading new apps. They’re already on Facebook and Messenger every single day, and businesses need to seek their customers where they already are,” Tarazi explained in an interview with Wamda,” Tarazi explains in an interview with Wamda.
Restaurant and cafe owners, such as Suleiman Jadoun, owner of Mindhub cafe and Eila’s first client, mentioned that the bot allowed them to attract more customers, especially those who are in a hurry and prefer getting their orders delivered to their car.
The question still remains: Is it possible that Eila is going to replace those food delivery apps?
