Last-mile startup Quiqup raises £5m and plans on expanding to the GCC

London-based last-mile delivery service Quiqup has bagged £5m million in a new funding round, bringing it more than £25m raised from Jobi Capital back in 2017.  

Quiqup was launched in 2014 by Federico Ferraro, Bassel El Koussa, Rami Idriss, Tim Linssen, and Danny Hawkins and has secured a number of partnerships up with stores brick and mortar shops, enterprise retailers and logistics providers to deliver their products, one of them is Tesco.

With the new funds, the company plans on expanding into the Middle East, mainly in the GCC countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar. Although the company has already expanded into UAE at the beginning of 2018 where it launched its delivery services in Dubai with at least 125 partners amongst them are Virgin Megastore and Wojooh. 

The company has a network of around 2,000 freelance drivers to make the deliveries. What differentiates Quiqup from its competitor Deliveroo is that the former delivers all kinds of products and services, including phone repairs, and food.
