Dubai Electricity and Water Authority Win 3 .GOV Awards for Smart Initiatives!

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) won three awards in the .GOV Awards for smart initiatives which was organised by ITP in Dubai.

Dewa won the Smart City Initiative of the Year Award for their pilot project which combines autonomous robots with Virtual Reality (VR) and Internet of Things (Iot) that can remotely inspect high-voltage cables. This project will save so much time and effort in maintaining high-voltage cables, in comparison to the old conventional methods. They also won the Public-Private Partnership of the Year Award for their Tayseer service, a smart payment platform in collaboration with Emirates NBD Bank. The platform enables the customers to pay their bills by depositing cheques in Emirates NBD Cash Deposit Machines.

Additionally, Fatima Al Marzooqi, Senior Officer of Smart Technologies and Business Intelligence at Dewa won the Young Government IT Professional Award since she worked with the Rammas service development team.
