Do You Know How to Improve Hotel Stays? If Yes, Read On

Marriott Hotels has launched its ‘TestBed’ accelerator, for the first time in the region giving start-ups the opportunity to test their innovative tech-based products or services in one of the local Marriot hotels.

For the first time in the GCC region, a luxury hotel chain is launching a test bed accelerator to allow local startups to test their products and services before entering the market. The ”TestBed” program by Marriott would look for the most promising new technologies that it could implement into its operations in the future.

Seed and early-stage startups may apply for the 10-week accelerator program. They need to present products or services that add value to the guests’ experiences in a hotel. Next to the opportunity to show off their works, the young entrepreneurs would also gain valuable feedback from the Marriott’s clients. The best ideas would receive global exposure and professional mentoring to achieve their goals.

Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President of Premium & Select Brands, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International commented:

It’s an exciting chance for us to revolutionize the hotel experience in the region while supporting start-ups that are ready to spark game-changing innovation. There is a wealth of talent out there, and we’re looking forward to learning from each other as Marriott continues to lead the way in shaping the future of travel with technology.

Marriott is planning to spread the initiative to the whole region, added Potgieter.
