Uber and Arabnet have launched its third UberPITCH 2017, announced from the company. The pan-regional initiative spans across five countries and eight cities, giving pitch opportunities to thousands of people, with a simple swipe of a finger. The last two campaigns gained a lot of popularity in the region. In 2016, twelve entrepreneurs secured sponsorship from Uber for the ArabNet Digital Summit.
How does it work? From 12 PM to 4 PM on September 30, selected candidates across the region would have the chance to request an UberPITCH ride. They would present their business idea in front of a judge within seven minutes. After that, the judge -usually a venture capitalist- would have seven minutes to give his feedback.
ArabNet Digital Summit 2018 and Uber sponsor the event. The package includes the production of a one-minute video to pitch the idea, exhibition space, marketing and branding workshops with marketing experts, and network events.
Interested? What you need to do is to download the Uber App on your mobile device first. Then you have time to September 20, 5 PM to submit your application. If approved, you will receive a notification via e-mail. It would include a promo code to unlock the UberPITCH ride option. On September 30, from 12 PM to 4 PM, you may request UberPITCH for a chance to present your startup. If connected, you will have seven minutes to introduce your business idea. Rides would be free. Do not give up if you do not secure a place on your first attempt. Keep trying because there will be a lot of competition. The winning startups would be announced on October 4.
