Boeing and 1776 to Support Tech Startups in the MENA Region

Boeing and 1776 have announced that they partnered up to support tech startups in the Middle East and North Africa.

The partnership entails that Boeing will sponsor the Challenge Cup Dubai, one of the 75 local pitch competitions taking place in cities around the world as part of 1776’s Challenge Cup. The Pitch Competitions are organized for entrepreneurs with business ideas, especially the early-stage businesses that need funding and other resources. Entrepreneurs get to pitch their ideas in a few minutes to an audience of investors, peers, and a judging panel for prize money or other resources.

Additionally, Boeing will be working directly with startups through the 1776 Dubai campus located in Jumeirah Emirates Towers, in parallel with Dubai Future Accelerators. Steve Nordlund, Vice-President of Boeing HorizonX said: ““Because Boeing is a global company and knows that innovation happens everywhere, Challenge Cup Dubai is exciting for Boeing HorizonX as we look to cultivate the best and brightest minds from across the Middle East and North Africa. We look forward to working with 1776 to harness business ideas and technologies we deem as possible game changers.”

The competition takes place on the 21st of September 2017. Application deadline is September 1st.
