Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and KPMG hosts a workshop for the telecom sector, here’s why

Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in collaboration with KPMG hosted a “VAT for Telecoms Workshop” from April 24 to April 26.

The workshop was held with the aim of discussing what VAT is and how is it going to affect the telecoms sector when it’s soon introduced to Bahrain. In addition, the workshop gave an overview of VAT in the GCC and touched on several fundamental VAT aspects, including the impact of VAT on the business sector,  application of VAT on the telecoms industry, VAT reporting requirements, legal aspects, and HR and employee benefits, and pricing strategies.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa, director of Finance, Information Technology, & Human Resources, said: “Our Kingdom is very dynamic, and it is our duty to keep up with what is surrounding us. We are holding the VAT for Telecom workshop that has a very significant effect on the sector as it is the Authority’s role to create awareness to those individuals.”
