Bahrain Polytechnic just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft to introduce Artificial Intelligence to its curriculum.
The signed partnership entails that it will provide a platform for students to develop their projects and ideas. The MoU also allows both parties to collaborate in organizing the Khalid bin Hamad Award for Innovation in Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, Microsoft will be conducting workshops for Polytechnic students.
According to a statement made by the university, this partnership will “enhance cooperation between the two parties in the use of artificial intelligence.”
The deal falls in line with the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities, to support the Khalid bin Hamad Award for Innovation in Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, the award is part of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s initiatives to boost students in the scientific field. The winner gets to participate in finals of Imagine Cup which will be held in Seattle, US next July.
