Halcyon, a Washington-based incubator hosted 14 young women entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia for a two-week intensive program to turn their ideas into reality.
The program, partly funded by Medina-based Taibah University gave the women the opportunity to build up their strategic networks and fine-tune their business pitches. The women were also able to attend and participate in various workshops revolving around sales, negotiations, and vulnerability. They even got advice from Amazon Web Services, Deloitte, as well as some startups.
This initiative comes in line with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision which aims to promote local business, especially those that are run by women. “We expect these women to return to Saudi Arabia not just as future leaders for their country and their region, but to start successful ventures.” Halcyon Director of Policy and International Programs, Josh Mandell states.
