Startup MGZN held its 5th Startup Mornings on Saturday 29th Nov. This event’s honorary speaker was His Royal Highness Prince Khaled bin AlWaleed bin Talal from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prince Khaled is one of the region’s prominent and youngest investors and an outspoken commentator on technological affairs. In Saturday’s event, held at the Bahrain Business & Professional International Women Club at Al-Jasra, Prince Khaled spoke about his personal investment decisions, how he makes them, and what he looks for in the startups or businesses he invests in. The Prince was joined by Startup Morning’s regular honorary guests, Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Tamkeen Chairman, and Shaikh Hesham bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, BDB Deputy General Manager, along with 50+ entrepreneurs, businessmen/women, startups, and representatives from Bahrain’s leading service providers.
Startup Mornings is a free-to-attend, monthly get together for startups and entrepreneurs aiming to host the exchange of ideas, inspiring of others, and the recounting of failures. The event’s attendees will also be in the company of a guest speaker, all over breakfast and coffee in a casual, ‘be-yourself’ environment.
“Startups and SMEs are the heart and blood of the economy through the younger generations. They deserve better in this region. The existing framework needs to find a way to empower startups’ intellectual and financial requirements to integrate them better into the economy”, H.R.H. Prince Khaled bin AlWaleed bin Talal said.
“We’ve always aimed to shine some light on inspiring entrepreneurs and insightful service providers, but sometimes, it’s good to see things from the investor’s perspective. Investors typically look for certain things in the businesses or startups they choose to invest in, and knowing the criteria behind their decisions can help you make better decisions when establishing or running your startup. H.R.H Prince Khaled was kind enough to share with us some of the ways in which he makes his decisions, and we couldn’t be more honored to have him with us in this Startup Mornings’s event.”, said Ahmed AlSawafiri, founder of Startup MGZN & Startup Mornings.
“The most memorable of memories in a home are usually the ones created around a dining table; conversations flowing easy, the retelling of one’s day – ease, comfort; a setting where friends are turned into family, and family into friends. This is what we want Startup Mornings to feel like for others, casual and friendly, amongst friends and family. It is where Bahrain becomes the home we want it to be, even if for a little while.”, Startup MGZN’s designer explains. Startup Mornings is being organized by the dedicated team behind “Startup Bahrain”, Bahrain’s first and only digital publication for startups and entrepreneurs in partnership with Tamkeen and Bahrain Development Bank and the Bahrain Business & Professional International Women Club.
