Global Innovation through Science and Technology Network (GIST), an initiative led by the U.S Department of state and implemented by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is hosting its 2019 GIST Tech-1 Competition for young scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-40 years old.
Up to 100 applicants will be selected by experts, who will then have their pitch videos featured online and voted on by the public. With these votes, 24 finalists will be selected to pitch their ventures to a global audience at the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain.
During GEC, the innovators will be receiving intensive skills training, mentorship, and networking access to global leaders in their fields. As mentioned, the winners will receive seed capital prizes, and the finalists will receive up to three months of mentoring.
The competition is open to 132 countries, and Bahrain is one of them! For more information about the competition, check out the website here.
