Guess what’s back for its 4th year? Techne Summit 2018!
It will be taking place in Alexandria, Egypt on the 29th and 30th of September at the Alexandria Library with the aim of bringing together investors and entrepreneurs to dissect the topic of technology and communication sectors.
The Techne Summit is basically an open platform for international global players to come share their experiences, predictions, and opportunities with other entrepreneurs. Its main goal is to help startups have a better-understanding on entrepreneurship through some of the best-renowned global speakers.
This year, the summit is expected to attract more than 200 startups, 100 speakers, and around 5000 attendees, with 8- investors from over 25 different countries. Isn’t that exciting?
Techne Summit founder, Tarek El-Kady commented on the summit stating: “The knowledge sharing, networking opportunities, panel discussions, 1-to-1 meetings, fundraising possibilities, and international educational opportunities through startup competitions that Techne Summit has created are unique to this event given its international nature and role as a leading event in the technology industry in the region.”
Furthermore, this year the summit is held under the auspicious Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Investment and International Cooperation, and The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

But don’t go just yet! The Techne Summit will also be hosting several pitching competitions with over $1M worth of prizes. These competitions are:
- GIZ and Techne GIZ. For early stage startups where Techne is going to award 2 winners with flights to Berlin
- Future Technopreneurs. Dedicated towards innovative tech-enables ideas.
- Trip to Stockholm. Co-organized by the Swedish Institue and the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, where two winners will have the unique opportunity to attend “Startups and the innovation eco-system” in Sweden.
