Womena, a Dubai-based investment group announced on March 1 that it’s going to launch an accelerator called “Womentum” that’s going to mainly focus on female-led tech startups.
Here’s what makes the accelerator special: It will have a virtual mentorship and immersive sessions in Berlin and Dubai.
In her speech at the Womedia launch event, Womena founder, Elissa Freiha said: “We want to stop hearing the excuse of accelerators that there isn’t enough of a female-led pipeline to feed in their cohort.”
The accelerator Women is also linked to Womedia, which will be featuring video interviews with influential women. Elisa mentioned that Womentum and its participants would take part in a weekly web series, which aims at showing people “the reality of the entrepreneurial life.”
