Unreal Bahrain, a community for game developers just announced a new competition that you simply won’t be able to turn your head away from. Nope, it’s not a startup competition, it’s something that’s even more exciting, and much more challenging than that. Is the curiosity eating you up yet?
Unreal Bahrain is organizing the “Global Game Jam” competition, an international event that aims to bring together people and have them create digital and non-digital games. The participants are known as jammers, and they will be working together to create prototypes of game designs, which in turn, inspires them to contribute towards the gaming industry.
Wondering where’s the real challenge? Well here’s the fun part: The Global Game Jam will be running for 48 hours ONLY from 5 PM on Friday the 26th of January until 5 PM the 28th of January (Save the dates!). The organizers will reveal the theme of the jam on the first day of the contest at 5 PM, where participants can, later on, form their teams. During the 48 hours, participants will have access to the location to work on their projects.
The Global Game Jam has its venue sponsored by CH9, Amwaj, a business accelerator that provides office space and guidance to young entrepreneurs in Bahrain.
This surely sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Are you up for the challenge? Make sure you sign up for the contest here. You can also join their Meetup page to take part in Bahrain’s local game development community.
Make sure you save the dates! January 26th to January 28th, 5 PM, at CH9, Amwaj!
