The Santa Clara-based leading provider of internet technologies and data communications Avaya announced the opening of its new office in Bahrain. The strategic move is part of the company’s intentions to support Bahrain in its digital transformation efforts. It also confirms its commitment to invest in local talents by enabling businesses to expand in the digital economy.
During the recent years, Avaya has experienced extensive growth in the Kingdom. The local organizations have started to adopt the latest technologies quickly to reduce costs and increase productivity. As the Bahraini ICT sector is growing rapidly, the businesses are thriving to implement cloud-based solutions, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence and to create new jobs for the locals and to reach their digital transformation goals.
Avaya has already established some strategic partnerships in the Kingdom, including with Bahrain Telecommunications Company Batelco, Maicom IT Services, VIVA Bahrain, Fakhro Electronics, and more. Bapco, the national oil company of the Kingdom, has also been working closely with Avaya on its digital transformation strategy. YBA Kanoo, Mesk Holding and Idbar Bank are among the private-sector enterprises which have been successfully collaborating with Avaya in exploring new communication technologies.
The local ICT sector has marked a rapid growth in the recent years due to the government efforts and its initiatives to support e-government and e-commerce. The Bahraini ICT sector already witnessed a 10.3% annual revenue growth. By 2020, it is expected to reach USD 2.7 billion.
Khalid Al Rumaihi, the Chief Executive at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), highlighted the important role of Avaya in promoting Bahrain as a leading innovation hub in the region. Nidal Abou-Ltaif, the President, Avaya International said that the ambitions of Bahrain in the ICT sector as well as the favorable business environment in the Kingdom, contributed to the decision to open a new office in Manama.
