Saudi Delegation Meets US Startup Incubator

During the last week of August, the Oregon Technology Business Center (OTBC) in Beaverton, a nonprofit startup incubator, welcomed a delegation from Saudi Arabia.

The representatives of the Islamic University in Madinah were planning to establish a startup incubator back home and wanted to exchange best practices with their American peers. The OTBC team provided them with materials and training to support the launch of the program. Steve Morris, the OTBC head commented:

We were happy to see the delegation benefiting from the incubation program experience we’ve had here. They were excited about the material we covered, and we hope to provide further assistance as they build their own program.

Denny Doyle, the Beaverton Mayor, also had a meeting with the Saudi team. He was excited that a local program has gained an international reputation and brought visitors from the Middle East to his town.

The Oregon Technology Business Center is located in Beaverton, the sixth largest city in the state. Its highly recognized startup incubator program provides expert mentorship, networking opportunities and diverse programs to help entrepreneurs grow. In addition to that, OTBC also offers office spaces and distance learning classes for entrepreneurs from Oregon via the Virtual Incubation Program. Since 2005, OTBC has taken part in the establishment of 90 new companies and the creation of 200+ high paying jobs. Its clients raised more than USD 60 million in funding.
