Vapulus Starts Expanding in the Middle East

Launched last year, Vapulus has quickly shown that it would be among the big names in the online payment industry. The startup has begun another funding round in Series A. Although it was such a young FinTech company, Vapulus was the first startup from the Middle East to get the certificate of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. It provided its partnering banks with additional trust and confidence.

According to its co-founder and CEO, Abdelrahman ElSharawy, the key to success was the simplicity of the user interface. You only need a username to start using it. It was the first service of its kind to eliminate both hardware and software.

The recent capital injection from the funding round in Series A would allow the ambitious startup to continue growing and to compete with its rivals globally from the Middle East. Provided that the application achieved the financial inclusion required by the Arab Countries Strategies, the launch in the region would start from Egypt, Bahrain, and Jordan explained the CEO.

Abdelrahman ElSharawy is a Statistician by education. He is also an experienced marketing consultant and a research expert. ElSharawy worked closely with Google, Microsoft, IKEA, Pfizer, and much more. He also authored a book called “The Ultimate Marketing Toolbox.” ElSharawy is also a certified Trainer for the International Marketing Certification.
