Do you find it hard to get on board with your diet plans? Work stresses you and keeps you busy from eating proper food? Struggled with diet because you’re always craving food that’s not lettuce, cucumbers, and carrots? Well, you can stop torturing yourself, because this is what Yam is all about: healthy food that is good, instant, and accessible to everyone!
Yam is a project founded by Fatima Habib and Hassan Abdullah where they aim to provide healthy food to all Bahrainis: From healthy junkies, flexitarians, students, employees, youth to families. According to Fatima and Hasan, Yam is a “healthy fast-food restaurant, committed to make food that not only tastes great, but is also healthy and served quickly.” They also decided to ‘spice’ things up with a twist to their recipes by adding tradionally flavors.
“Healthy food reached people’s minds but not their dining table”
Yam also won second place in the Youth Pioneer Society’s “Chance” 2017 program. The program enabled the founders to transform their idea to a profitable business. Chance had 3 levels whereby each level was enriching, had useful topics, and included trainings from professional trainers and mentors. The stories of the business men and entreprenuers were also a great addition to the program as it provided the participants with a an authentic insight about the business field, thus encouraging them in the process. Additionally, it helped them explore businesses opportunities, conduct market research and create a business plan.
Yam will be opening soon, and hopes to hit the GCC and global market.
