The Benefit Company has become partners with the Lebanese group FOO technologies to launch the National Mobile Electronic Wallet (BenefitPay): the e-wallet, an e-payment software to streamline payment.
The national e-wallet, is the first of its kind in Bahrain. It is a joint initiative of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and Benefit where it aims to provide easier payment methods for its customers. The e-wallet enables instant payments via smart phones and at the same time facilitates the collection of payments electronically through debit, credit, prepaid cards and online bank accounts for in-store and online purchases.
Benefit Company CEO Abdulwahed AlJanahi said: “The first phase of e-wallet, which will see consumers adding their payment instrument information (debit cards) to the app and merchants applying for acceptance of payment using QR code technology, goes live by the end of this month.”
The e-wallet is going to be launched on the 4th of July.
