The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) has launched a first of its kind in the MENA region – Dubai Smart City Accelerator on Wednesday by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DSOA. The new accelerator is aimed at facilitating solutions to create a ‘smart city’
According to the state news agency Wam the accelerator has been set-up at an investment of $5 million in partnership with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), Smart Dubai Office (SDO), and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The accelerator program is mainly going to target startups with developing innovative solutions to contribute in achieving the goal to help cities become smarter and overcome challenges due to congestion, waste, and energy.
