The Middle East College(MEC) in Oman has launched its MEC TaMECon Entrepreneurship Competition, where students get a hands on experience of promoting and selling their business ideas and projects by presenting them in front of a panel of experts.
Twelve teams of MEC students and alumni participated in the competition. The first prize went to Mohammed al Ismaily’s project ‘i-Smaily HR Solutions and Business Development Services,’ while the second prize went to Sahar al Hinai’s project ‘Baby Oasis’, and the third prize went to Aiman Firdous, Salwa Fatima and Hussam al Nabhani for their project ‘Rinse and Repeat Laundry.”
Maryam al Araimi, an entrepreneurship trainer from the Department of Entrepreneurship, SME, who was one of the judges, said: “Being on the panel gave me the chance to feel the students’ enthusiasm, their passion and readiness to go through this experience as they shared and presented their creative and innovative ideas. This will certainly serve the community in general and the college campus in particular.”
